A BILL to amend and reenact section five, article one, chapter
twenty-one of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine
hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to continuation of
the division of labor.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section five, article one, chapter twenty-one of the
code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. DIVISION OF LABOR.
§21-1-5. Reestablishment of division; findings.
After having conducted a performance and fiscal audit
through its joint committee on government operations, pursuant to
section nine, article ten, chapter four of this code, the
Legislature hereby finds and declares that the department
division of labor should be continued and reestablished.
Accordingly, notwithstanding the provisions of section four,
article ten, chapter four of this code, the department divisionof labor shall continue to exist until the first day of July, one
thousand nine hundred ninety-four ninety-five.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the Division
of Labor until July 1, 1995, to allow the Joint Committee on
Government Operations to monitor the division's compliance with
recommendations set forth in the performance audit.

This bill is recommended by the Joint Committee on
Government Operations for passage during the 1994 Regular
Session.
